Hello Up There, James Marjani

A male Baringo giraffe calf is the newest member of the tallest family at the zoo. James Marjani was born on September 14 to Margaret Sukari and James Michael. He was approximately 6 feet tall at birth and weighed more than 100 pounds.

The WCS Bronx Zoo, Buffalo Zoo, and New York State DEC team up to save one of the largest salamanders in the world—the eastern hellbender, AKA “devil dog,” “Allegheny alligator,” or “snot otter.”

Two bald eagles have recently arrived at the Bronx Zoo from a wildlife rehabilitation center in Wyoming. Unable to survive on their own in the wild, the eagles are adjusting well to their new home at Birds of Prey.
