Bronx Zoo Welcomes White-Cheeked Gibbon
January 18, 2013
Our white-cheeked gibbon baby--the first born at the Bronx Zoo since 2000--is causing quite a stir. The little one, now on exhibit in JungleWorld, hangs close to veteran mom, Christine, affectionally known by the name "Kicks." Father Milton is a first-timer, but he seems to be getting into the swing of things. The baby was born as part of our Species Survival Plan, a breeding program designed to preserve endangered animal species like this one.
